Let Them Sing it for You!

Oh MY...this is so much fun. Type in a few sentences, click the forward button and listen to famous artists sing the words! It doesn't always turn out quite right but you can change the words they can't find to make it work. When it's just right, then send it via email to a friend. Enjoy yourself with this site!

Qwiki

This is a neat new site billing itself as the Information Experience! I've been following Qwiki for several weeks now during there Beta phase and I have enjoyed their daily emails with links to the Qwiki of the day.

Try is out. Click on the title to go to the site. Then all you have to do is fill in your topic in the search box and wait for the Qwiki to load. The computer then reads the information while you look at the text and pictures. Additional related Qwikis are included at the bottom and once the Qwiki is over you see more related Qwikis and links to other sites on your topic.

I love Qwiki and recently added a number of links on our classroom social studies page. I've embedded a qwiki on the Whitehouse below. Enjoy!

Penguin Storytime

This is a great site with lots of resources for teachers. I spent a good deal of time clicking around the site and liked the Storytime section the best. Chek out the video below.

Clay Yourself

I had a great time making a clay person. It's easy to use; just click and drag. When finished, it is simple to save it to your computer for use in your blog or website later. If you want to take a step farther, fill in a few blanks with a mad lib and record it to add to your clay person. Great fun!

Quiet Write

Quiet Write looks to be a great site for practicing your writing skills. You will need to sign up, use a log-in but then all your writing will be saved. I believe it is in beta right now...that means it is new and may have some glitches...but my first swipe at using it was easy. Click on the title to go to the site.

Dolch Words

This looks to be a good site to use to review dolch words. I tried out a matching game with the word pronounced and I had to match the written word. It was great fun however the speaker had a British accent.

A New Year

I stopped using this site months ago and have since built several sites for use in my classroom. I think it's time to get back to work on Sally's Tech Tips! Expect to see regular postings to this site for all grade levels! Happy New Year!
