New Product on TpT

I just updated a product and got it ready for Easter.  My CVC + Silent E product uses an Easter theme complete with colorful Easter bunnies!  Here's the info:

This Easter Bunny theme product is a collection of resources for use when teaching CVC words with the silent e.  This is not a lesson plan.  The collection supplements your lesson or unit on this phonetic skill.  Included in the packet are the following:

•Word Cards CVC words and CVC+e words for review as a class or used independently.  Perfect for matching. (pages 3-11)

•Folding word cards with CVC words.  Once cut and folded, students will write the e on the end on the folded portion.
Perfect as an activity after direct instruction and something students can take
    home for review. (pages 12-17)
•CVC word cards and two e cards to add to the words.  Great to use as part of the direct instruction. (pages 18-24)
•CVC+e word puzzles Students may use this as an independent activity. Students cut out cards and then cut into puzzles(pages 25-31)

•Word/puzzle cards for students to cut, store and keep for home review. (pages 32-36)

I suggest printing these resources on white index
paper and laminating for long term use.

Writing Prompts with Photographs

Writing Prompts with Photographs

This is one of my favorite products.  I love to travel and always have my camera along.  Writing is very big at my school so I decided to use some of my travel photos for writing prompts.  We use WVWrites in Terra Alta East Preston School so I modeled my prompts after the format used in WVWrites.  Along with the picture, I wrote a few paragraphs setting the stage and then added a prompt as directions for the writing.  You can check out my prompts on Teachers Notebook.  Just click on the title.
GeoGuesser

This is great fun!  The site gives you a picture and you guess where it is.  Of course you get to move about looking for some clues.  I tried to read signs, look at license plates and ponder the plant life and sometimes I got close...well, within 1,000 miles close!  Each time you guess, you are awarded points.  I think students in my 6th grade classroom would enjoy this and they would get to see the world a little at a time!  Click on the title to check out this site.

Synonyms and Antonyms Go to the Prom

I've recently added some products to my stores on TpT and Teacher's Notebook.  One of those is a center activity that may be used in small or large groups.  The activity targets synonyms and antonyms and has a prom theme.  Students look at the word on the flower trellis and then match a synonym and antonym Prom King and Prom Queen to the trellis card.  The cards are large enough to use as a whole group activity.  Just print them out in color, laminate and cut.  Since I have a magnetic board, I put magnet tape on the back and students just sort the words right on the board.  Check out this product by clicking on the title of this post.
A Story Before Bed

This is a great site for teachers, grandparents, moms, dads, and kids!  This site allows you to record a video of you reading one of the on-line books.  You send the video to a child and they have unlimited times to watch the video and read along with you!  Sign up is free however there is a pricing plan for families, schools and libraries. Check A Story Before Bed by clicking here or the title of this post.
