Story Before Bed
This looks like a great site for older students to use to read to their younger siblings. A Story Before Bed allows you to record reading a story. You need a microphone and a webcam to complete the recording. They have some free books however most have a fee. It does appear they have a special for teachers in grades K-5 for a trial 2 month subscription and 50 free books. I've signed up even though I teach grade 6. If you want to learn more about this program, click on the title of the posting.
Read Together
Learn Central has some great activities to use with students. You can read several stories together or you can have students change the story and add graphic details to the story to personalize the book. When students are finished, they can print off the book, put it together, and take it home. My 6th graders would love this especially if they were making the books for younger siblings. Check it out by clicking on the title of this posting.

Spend a Day with Your Kids
This looks like a fun site to use when you want to find something fun to do as a family. I searched Morgantown, WV and the site found 6 places like Pricketts Fort, Audra State Park and Valley Worlds of Fun. Check it out by clicking on the title of the post. It's easy to use and includes links to the suggested places. This is great for families but also an easy way to help teachers find field trip ideas!
